We at Empowher English understand that complete privacy of your personal information is paramount. This privacy policy explains what we do with your information and how we keep it secure. It also outlines where and how we collect your personal information and explains your rights over any personal information we hold about you. This policy also outlines your privacy rights and how the law protects you.  

Empowher English complies with the obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, un-authorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.
 

What data about you do to we collect?
Empowher English may collect the content of any data files and communications that you may send us, together with any physical documents that you may give us for whatever purpose.  

Data we collect may include:
  • name, email address, telephone and postal address
  • other personal or contact information required for the product or service that you would like us to provide
  • the address, subject line and body of an email
  • marketing data which includes data about your preferences for receiving marketing from us 
  • technical data which includes data about how you use our website, such as your IP address or length of visit to pages on our website. 

How do we use your data?

Empowher English use your personal data for the following purposes:
  • to deliver the products and services that customers have requested 
  • to contact customers as necessary in accordance with the products/services they have requested or enquired about
  • to contact customers about other services and products, owned by Empowher English, which is deemed to be of legitimate interest
  • to securely and accurately maintain our own accounts and records. 

Sensitive data
 Empowher English do not collect any sensitive data about customers. Sensitive data includes details of race, ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, trade union membership, political opinions, information about your health and genetic and biometric data. Empowher English do not collect information about criminal offences or convictions.  

Social media 
The Empowher English website may include social media cookies, including those that enable users who are logged in to the social media service to share content via that service.  

Website cookies  
Most browsers can be set to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, please be aware that some parts of our website may become inaccessible or not function properly.  

Our lawful basis for processing client personal data  
The data subject has given clear consent to process their personal data for a specific purpose by using or purchasing our products and services. Furthermore, the processing is necessary for the completion of a product sale or service.  
Security of your data  

Empowher English have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your data being accidentally lost or used in an unauthorised way. We limit the access to your data to third parties who have a business need to know of such data e.g. Zenler.com.
 
Data retention 
Empowher English will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose we have collected it for.  For tax purposes the law requires us to keep basic information about our customers for six years after they stop being customers.  

Disclosures of your personal data
Empowher English may have to share your personal data with the parties set out below.
Online Course platform provider Zenler.com will be data processor of your data. We have entered into a data processing addendum with Zenler to process your data.  

We require all third parties to whom we transfer your data to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We only allow such third parties to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.  

Your legal rights of your personal data 

Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
  • You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Please email this request to preeti@empowherenglish.com
  • The right to request that we provide the data subject with his/her personal data and where possible, to transmit that data directly to another data controller, (known as the right to data portability), (where applicable). 
  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing. 
  • The right to withdraw consent of processing personal data, (where applicable).
